Delores Dodie Torkelson, 68, of Thief River Falls, MN died on Sunday, February 02, 2003, at her home in rural Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at St. Pauli Lutheran Church, rural Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Terri Cuppett officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Pauli Cemetery, Rocksbury Township, Pennington County, MN.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, from 5-8 PM at the Johnson Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, and for one hour prior to the services in the church on Thursday.

Delores Dodie Helen Torkelson was born on August 26, 1934 in Thief River Falls, MN, to Adolph and Harda (Anderson) Hagen. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1952.

On June 16, 1956, Dodie was united in marriage to Wallace Torkelson at Trinity Lutheran Church. She later served as the first female treasurer of the city of St. Hilaire. She also held several offices in both Calvary and St. Pauli Lutheran Churches. She was active in the WELCA and Hazelnut Homemakers. Since she was locally known as an excellent cook, particularly famous for her desserts, she spearheaded the St. Pauli Centennial Cookbook.

She loved playing cards, solving crossword puzzles and reading; but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband Wally; children Troy of Las Vegas, NV; Jodie of Arlington, VA; Shelley (Bruce) Mathson of Thief River Falls, MN; Dana (Keith) Connett of Minneapolis, MN; Kari of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren Michelle and Rachel Mathson and Aubrey Connett; sisters Elizabeth (Philip) Mitchell and Adeline (Richard) Bishop of Sun City West, AZ; brother Raymond Hagen of Manchester, NH.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
