Deloris Bendickson of Goodridge, MN age 87 died peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN with Rev. Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will follow at Germantown Cemetery, rural Goodridge, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7 PM prayer service on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 until 10:30 AM on Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church. Deloris Panek was born on March 25, 1926 in Silverton Township, Pennington County, MN the daughter of Stanley and Frances (Kolski) Panek. She was confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Germantown, MN. She attended Sandy Ridge Country School through eighth grade and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN in 1943. After graduation, Deloris worked for a time at Ben Franklin in Thief River Falls and picked potatoes in North Dakota. On August 25, 1945 Deloris was united in marriage to Henry Bendickson at her home by Rev. E.O. Sabo. The couple made their home on the Bendickson family farm in Grand Plain Township, Marshall County, MN, which became a Century Farm in 2012. To this union five children were born, Dennis, Judy, Robert, Karen and Tom. Deloris was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, MN where she was active in Circle, quilting, and numerous other church activities. She was known for her donuts, dill pickles, lefse, perogies, maple chiffon cake, and other goodies. She loved the outdoors, as was evidenced by her beautiful flower gardens and extensive vegetable garden. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, snowmobiling, dancing, and especially spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband of 68 years, Henry of Goodridge, MN; four children, Dennis (Sue) Bendickson of Thief River Falls, MN, Robert (Ginger) Bendickson of Surprise, AZ, Karen (Gary) Berg of Bagley, MN, and Tom (Jodi) Bendickson of Thief River Falls, MN; eight grandchildren, Richard (Connie) Bendickson, Michael (Carlene) Bendickson, Ryan Bendickson, Benjamin (Tiffany) Berg, Brady (Samantha) Berg, Brandon Berg, Kelly (Steve) Gaida, and Aaron Bendickson; eight great grandchildren, Ashley, Jacob, Brett, Beau, Owen, Henry, Adam, and Luke; brothers, Henry (Marge) Panek, Norman Panek, Robert (Doris) Panek, Stanley (Arlene) Panek Jr.; sisters-in-law, Pat Panek and Madeline Texley; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Judy; parents; brothers, Walter Panek and George Panek; sisters-in-law, Sharon Panek and Evelyn Panek; brothers-in-law, Juel Stadum and Norris Texley; and father and mother-in-law, Benard and Helen Bendickson.
