DelRay Allen Rux, 57, of Holt, MN, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, surrounded by family at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Visitation and Service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN, with Reverend Stephanie White officiating.

On August 8, 1966, DelRay Allen Rux was born to Orlie Serguis and Donna Mae (Scott) Rux at Thief River Falls, MN. He was baptized at Lake of the Woods by a family friend, along with a few other members of his family.  DelRay attended school at Thief River Falls, MN, until 10th grade and graduated in 1986 from Central High School in Grand Forks, ND. DelRay worked at Marvin Windows in Warroad, MN before he started at Quick Print in Thief River Falls, and then in 2002, he went to Arctic Cat, working on the production line for a short time. Then, he worked with the warranty department for several years.

In 2008, DelRay met Jackie, and they married in 2016 in Holt City Park. DelRay was elected to be the Holt City Mayor in 2022.

DelRay enjoyed being outside, especially hunting, fishing, and camping at their seasonal lot on Lake of the Woods. He also loved tinkering with whatever needed to be fixed. He would call himself a "jack of all trades and master of none." DelRay was ready to help anyone who needed assistance. DelRay enjoyed being around people, especially family, as they were dear to him. His grandchildren brought him great joy, and they loved their Papa Del very much.

DelRay is survived by his wife, Jackie Rux, Holt, MN, and their fur-baby Frankie; bonus Daughter, Shandelle (Branden) Sherer of Winger, MN; Grandchildren: Kaiden, Kinzley, and Kodehn: Mother, Donna Rux of Thief River Falls, MN; siblings Pam Hamilton of Thief River Falls, MN; Duane (Jane) Rux of Thief River Falls, MN; and Susie Lerol of Thief River Falls, MN; Nieces and Nephews: Michelle, Britney, Jacob, Josh, Shyanne;  Cassandra, Majesta (Joel), Steven (Gabriel), Rueben, and Jessica (Ben); several great Nieces and Nephews. Aunt Betty Brownlee, Ft. Worth, TX; uncles: Donnie (Cheryl) Scott, St. Hilaire, MN, Kenny Scott, St. Hilaire, MN, Raymond (Cindy) Scott, Red Lake Falls, MN and Richard (Mikki) Scott, St. Hilaire, MN also Aunts DeVaughn Hanson, Fertile MN, and Beverly Askelson, Glyndon MN, along with many cousins and friends.

DelRay is preceded in death by his Father, Orlie; Brother, Jason Rux; Grandparents: Walter and Lily Rux, Donald and Evelyn Scott; Uncles: Floyd (Lillian) Rux, Franklin (Wendy) Rux, Delmer (Gloria) Rux, Clayton (Jean) Rux; Aunts: Wanda (Clarence) Schroeder, June (Cecil) Olson, Viola (Erwin) Melvie, Leroy and Joyce Bestul and Brother-in-law Ron Bestul, Sisters-in-law: Jody Fritsch, and Patty Courneya.
