Denise (Wold) Nordhagen of Thief River Falls passed away surrounded by her family on July, 22, 2017 at the Thief River Care Center after a three-year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Kent Hudson officiating, with lunch and fellowship to follow immediately after the service.  There will be a prayer service on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 7:00 PM with visitation from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls.  Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church.

Denise Wold was born on July 29, 1958, the daughter of Ralph and Betty (McEnelly) Wold.  She graduated from Lincoln High School and attended college at Moorhead State University.  She married the love of her life, Steve (Beaver) Nordhagen in 1985.  They have two beautiful daughters, Anna and Maria.

Denise was very active in her church and until recently led weekly Bible study in her home.  She was always the first to reach out and help someone in need.

Her most important role in life was being a wife and mother to her two daughters, along with three exchange students who came to know her as "mom."  Denise loved being with her daughters and when they were young, she would sing to them and fix their hair.

Their home was always open to those in need of a "family" or friend.

Denise helped out at their business, Les's Sanitation.  She was very creative in crocheting afghans and other items.  She made several beautiful quilts. Denise had a wonderful sense of humor.  She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, and music.  She loved her pets and they loved her.  Denise loved game shows and we often said she should be on them because she always knew the answers.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Betty Wold, in-laws, Lester and Dorothy Nordhagen, grandparents, aunts, uncles and brothers-in-law.

Denise is survived by her husband, Steve (Beaver) Nordhagen, and daughters Anna and Maria.  She is also survived by siblings Sheila Duvall, Renae Coddington (Ali Hassan), and Dave (Tracy) Wold, along with in-laws Les (Cindy) Nordhagen, Bruce (Nora) Nordhagen, Rick (Mary) Nordhagen , Shirley (Mike) Cullen, several cousins and many nieces and nephews.
