Dennis Anderson, 67, died Monday, September 06, 2004 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN.

Dennis Myron Anderson was born July 29, 1937, in Spring Brook Township, Kittson County, MN, in the northeast side of the living room on the family farm. He was the son of the late Melvin and Florence (Sjostrand) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at East Emmaus Lutheran Church near Kennedy, MN. He grew up and attended country school and graduated Kennedy High School, Class of 1955. He helped on the family farm as he grew.

The summer of 1955, Dennis entered the United States Marines, where he worked as an airplane mechanic. He served in Japan, the Philippines and was honorably discharged in 1959.

He took over the family farm in Spring Brook Township in 1960 and on July 15, 1961, he was united in marriage to Marlys Swanson in Hallock, MN. The couple farmed until 1965, when they moved to Thief River Falls, MN. Dennis sold Bell Tone Hearing Aides, a delivery salesman for Peters Meat, worked for Stordahl Truckline as well as Hartz Foods. His last job was for Mobile Imaging, from which he retired in 1999. He also owned Anderson Windshield Repair.

Dennis was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where he served on the council and sang in the choir. He loved to fish, deer hunt, camp and travel. Dennis enjoyed his family and loved to spend time with them. He enjoyed accumulating old things. During his early years of marriage, Dennis sang in a barbershop quartet with a group from the Lancaster, MN area.

Survived by wife, Marlys, Thief River Falls, MN; children, Charles Jon Anderson, Newport News, VA, Denice Marie (Dale) Nelson, Thief River Falls, MN and Thomas Jon (Kari) Anderson, West Fargo, ND; 7 grandchildren, Casey Anderson, Maura, Zeb and Marley Nelson, Sara, C.J. and Brianna Anderson; one great grandchild, Matthew Neumann; brother, Donald E. Anderson, Eagan, MN; brother-in-law, Orris Baldwin, Stratton, CO; sister-in-law, Darlyne (George) Koch, Puposky, MN and many cousins, relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by grandson, Stephen, parents, grandparents and sister, Avis.
