Dennis Dahl of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN, at the age of 86.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Petersburg Lutheran Church in Petersburg, ND, with Rev. Valerie Teppo officiating.  Interment will follow at the Petersburg Cemetery, Petersburg, ND.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at the church.

Dennis Odin Dahl was born on May 31, 1930 in Cavalier, ND, the son of Ole and Evelyn (Johnston) Dahl.  He was raised in rural North Dakota, spending most of his time on the family farm near Adams, ND.  Dennis graduated from Michigan High School in 1949.

Dennis entered the Army in 1950 and served two years.

Dennis was united in marriage to Mildred Mork on July 6, 1951 in Petersburg, ND.  Dennis and Millie made their home in various locations in North Dakota, while Dennis served six years with the North Dakota Highway Patrol.  In 1963 they moved to Thief River Falls, MN, where they have made their home since.

Dennis enjoyed tinkering – fixing anything, and the many snowmobiling and antiquing trips he shared with Millie.  He will be remembered for his wit and humor, and his dedication and love for his family.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Millie of Thief River Falls, MN; children, Terry Dahl of Middle River, MN, Dean (Mary) Dahl of Thief River Falls, MN, and Connie (Steven) Lee of Badger, MN; grandchildren, Aaron, Dena, Tara, Jessica, Erin, and Kya; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Morgan, Nolan, Olivia, William, Samuel, and Nash; sister, Jacky Hopman of Detroit Lakes, MN; and many extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Carol; brother, James; sisters, Jean and Shirley.
