Obituary

Devan Erickson, 42, died on Monday, November 20, 2006 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston, MN.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Terry Olson. Burial will be in Nyskoga Cemetery, Alvarado, MN.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. on Friday, November 24, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Devan Lane Erickson was born on October 27, 1964 in Spokane, WA, the son of Delmar Erickson and Bonita Lautt. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith and attended Garfield Elementary School in Billings, MT. The family moved to Stanley, ND in 1973, where Devan also attended school. The family moved to the Thief River Falls area in 1988. Devan worked at the D.A.C. in Thief River Falls until moving to Crookston in 2001. There he lived at Rem Johnson Place and worked at the D.A.C.

Devan loved watching Come on Down and enjoyed fishing, riding on a Pontoon, listening to Johnny Cash and Oak Ridge Boys. He loved going to church and visiting with people and shaking their hands. Devan had a strong grip. He enjoyed going to get the mail and had to have a dollar bill for a pop; 8:30 was his favorite time and he loved to talk on the phone.

He was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.

Devan is survived by his mother, Bonnie Jagol of Thief River Falls, MN; grandmothers, Gladys Lautt of Alvarado, MN and Gladys Erickson of Stanley, ND; brothers and sisters: Sharon (Bill) Gartrell of Wasilla, Alaska, Lynn (Jo) Erickson of Waunakee, WI, DeeAnn (fianc, Dave) Stull of Waymart, PA and Danette (Donald) Jensen of Goodridge, MN; nieces and nephews: Jay, Camielle, Kira, Aaron, Garrett, Brooke, Brittni, Corissa, Tyler, Danielle and Blake; and several great nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delmar; grandfathers: William Erickson and Ray Lautt; uncle Roger Lautt and his friend, Roger Gullickson.
