Diane Rugland, of Thief River Falls, MN, age 64 passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock, MN.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

Diane Elaine Rugland was born November 6, 1953 at Roseau, MN, the daughter of Robert and Gloria (Smith) Rugland.  She attended Roseau Elementary School until the 6 ^th grade.  She moved with her family to Billings, MT.  She attended school there until they moved to Thief River Falls in 1969 and attended Lincoln High School.

Diane married Terry Fredrickson December 23, 1971 and to this union 3 children were born Jade, Heidi & Lance.  They moved to Drayton, MN, where she worked cleaning for various people and joined the "Jayceettes" which helped on community projects.

Diane moved to Thief River Falls, MN and married Randy Hanson November 7, 1984 and to this union a son Wayne was born.  She attended Northland Technical College, where she graduated as a legal secretary.  She worked for Glenmore Recovery Center as a CD Technician in 1994 and in 2001, she then took over the cook job until 2004.  She worked at various jobs until she started her own business in 2007 called " Diane's Quality Cleaning Service ".  She later married John Fritz.

Diane celebrated 27 years of sobriety in April of 2018 and has been very active in AA.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, crafts, flower arranging, sprint car racing and baking.  She loved the time spent with her grandkids, special friends Myrna Lane and John Fritz.

Diane is survived by 4 children: Jade (Wendy) Fredrickson, Lancaster, MN, Heidi (Andy) Tunheim, Wishek, ND, Lance (Kayla) Fredrickson, Northglenn, CO and Wayne Hanson, Thief River Falls, MN; 9 grandchildren: Courtney, Payton, Sophie, Cooper, Macie, Libbie, Hallie, Devin and Carter; father: Robert Rugland of Thief River Falls; siblings:  Jan Harshaw and Kelly (John) Nelson; friends from her AA support group; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Gloria in 2001, grandparents; and uncle: Steve Rugland.
