Diane Wilson, 81, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND, with her loving family by her side.
Service to be announced at a later time.
Diane Marie Wilson was born on September 27, 1938 in Anoka, MN, the daughter of Mildred L. (Dennis) Dropps and her step-father, Aden L. Dropps. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Diane attended Anoka High School in Anoka, MN.
Diane was a nurse's aide and laundry keeper throughout her life. Her places of employment included the Anoka State Hospital, Leisure Hills Nursing Home in Grand Rapids, and the Camelia Rose Nursing Home in Coon Rapids. After retirement in 2005, she moved to Thief River Falls to be closer to her grandsons and family. She continued to help her neighbors whenever she could.
Diane's favorite pastime was reading. She also enjoyed going to the casino with her best friend, Dee, going to the camper with Mike and Maria, and spending time with her family. She was especially proud of her grandsons and their families. Grandma always gave money in birthday cards to her grandsons and great-grandkids – a dollar for every year of age. Diane had a special love for cats. She collected cat figurines and even had a life size ceramic cat in her apartment. She looked forward to her Grumpy Cat calendar every Christmas from her granddaughter, Bri.
Diane is survived by her daughters, Maria (Mike) Srnsky of Thief River Falls, MN, and Jennifer (Geno) Wilson of Thief River Falls, MN; grandsons, Jeremy (Erica) Srnsky of Viking, MN, Jason (Bri) Srnsky of Moorhead, MN, and Danny (Alicia) Srnsky of Fergus Falls, MN; great-grandchildren, Maysie, Keenan, and Baylen Srnsky, Alivia, Tenley, and Maxton Srnsky, Lincoln and Harrison Srnsky; brothers, Kevin (Heather) Dropps of Maine and David (Judy) Dropps of Arizona; best friend, Dee Noreen of Thief River Falls, MN; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Stanley Wilson; sister, Judy Beckenbach; and niece, Jodi Winkelman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Pennington County Humane Society.
