Dick Marquis, 81, died on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at First Care Nursing Home in Fosston, MN.

Funeral service will be at 11:A.M. on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN with Reverend Robert Paulson and Reverend Bob Dahlen officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Oklee.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service at Oklee, MN with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service on Friday evening and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Dick Gordon Marquis was born on December 31, 1925 Siren, WI, son of Herbert and Adah (Van De Linder) Marquis. When he was 6 months old the family moved to Star Township, Pennington County. Dick attended Country school thru 8th grade and then attended Goodridge High School.

Dick was united in marriage to Marian Olson on April 11, 1951. He was a dairy farmer all his life. In October, 1990, he retired and Dick and Marian moved to Oklee.

He enjoyed the farm life, his dogs, gardening, cooking, playing cards, teasing and spending time with his family. Dick was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Dick is survived by his wife, Marian of Oklee, MN; children: Mitchell Marquis of Fosston, MN, Kaye (Tim) Munt of Oklee, MN, Arlen (Joani) Marquis of Trail, MN, Gene (Renae) Marquis of Goodridge, MN, Lori (Darrell) Buol of Sioux Falls, SD, David (Lori) Marquis of Goodridge, MN and Doreen (Jim) Aakre of Clearbrook, MN; grandchildren: Erica, Ethan, Erin, Justin, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Maureen, Tera, Garett, Averre, Shandrae, Brittane, Preston, Cory, Andrea, Megan, Matthew, Brandon, Brody, Jordy, Zachary, Caden, Devin, Katelyn and Laura; great grandchildren: Ridley, Andrew, Caleb, Reid, Ava, Emily and Eliza; one brother, Earl (Angie) Marquis of Goodridge; sister: June Johnson of Goodridge, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Seth Marquis; great grandson, Gabriel Knudson; brother Donald Marquis; sisters: Evelyn (Trigve) Tofstad, Carolyn (Truman) Nelson, Dorothy Marquis, Thelma Mcalay and Rozanne (Kenneth) Thorson
