Doloris Mickelson of Goodridge, MN, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND, at the age of 85.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN, with Rev. Wes Langaas and Rev. Raynard Huglen officiating.  Burial will follow at Telemarken Cemetery, rural Goodridge, MN.

Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Friday, June 17, 2016, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.  Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church.

Doloris Lorraine Beiswenger was born in Thief River Falls, MN, on February 9, 1931, the daughter of Bruno and Mary (Sanders) Beiswenger.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.  Doloris attended the Hümmer Country School through 8 th grade.  She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948.

Doloris was united in marriage to Roger Mickelson on October 10, 1948.  They lived on their farm in Kratka Township.  To this union eight children were born.  She was involved in farm and community activities while raising her family.

Doloris was an active member of Telemarken Lutheran Church; she served as the Ladies Aid President and taught Sunday School for many years.  Her children belonged to the Kratka 4-H Club where she served as an adult leader for nine years.  Doloris loved flowers and was a member of the Mocassin Garden Club.

When she was 59 years old, Doloris started working in food service at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.  She valued her work and social interactions with her co-workers for the 18 years she was employed.

Doloris had a strong faith and lived with the focus to ensure that each of her children had a good education and faith in God.  This was expressed in the way she devoted her life to her children, husband, and farm.

Memorials suggested to the Telemarken Cemetery Association, Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Thief River Falls, or the charity of the giver's choice.

Doloris is survived by her children, Beattie Mickelson of Goodridge, MN, Angela (Nick) Frey of Santa Rosa, CA, Paula (Harvey) Syltie of Porter, MN, Harold (Lynne) Mickelson of Crookston, MN, Stuart Mickelson (girlfriend Tracey Alderson) of Warroad, MN, Tim Mickelson of Goodridge, MN, Tom (Becky) Mickelson of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Mike (Kelsey) and Lindsey Syltie, Micah, Joel, Kenan, and Joshua McQueen; great-grandchild, William Syltie; sisters, Shirley (Leo) LaCoursiere of Oklee, MN, and Phyllis (Doug) Cederberg of Federal Way, WA; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Mickelson on June 24, 2003; son, Harlan Mickelson on December 2, 2001; her parents; and her daughter-in-law, Heidi (Lillibridge) Mickelson on September 12, 1999.
