Dominic Kalinoski, 97, died on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Oakland Park Communities in Thief River Falls, MN. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 1:30 PM at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN. Dominic Dennis Kalinoski was born April 18, 1915 in Roseau County, MN, the son of Peter and Frances (Florek) Kalinowski. On November 4, 1935, Dominic was united in marriage to Frances Harder and they had four children; Janice, Diane, David and Mark. The family lived on a farm close to Thief River Falls, where Dominic farmed and raised livestock. Later they moved into town and Dominic built and operated Kal's Automotive Service. There he did car repairs and had an Oliver farm machinery dealership. In 1966 Dominic and Frances relocated to Loveland, Colorado, where Dominic built homes and worked as a contractor in the construction business, until he retired in 1978. Dominic loved fishing, hunting, camping and the outdoors. He also enjoyed dancing, playing cards and travelling. He is preceded in death by his wife Frances, brothers Anton, Aloyous and Louis; sisters Helen, Marion, Frances, Emily and Gertrude; and grandson Wayne Kron. Dominic is survived by his children; Janice Kron of California, Diane Chestnut of Idaho, David Kalinoski of Burnsville, Minnesota, and Mark Kalinoski of Washington; as well as his 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
