Don Fugleberg, 65, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at his home in Thief River Falls, MN, surrounded by his family.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, December 18, 2006 at Redeemer Lutheran church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Mark Helgeland officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 17, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service on Sunday evening and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Ernest Donovan Don Fugleberg was born on March 24, 1941 to Ernest and Lillian (White) Fugleberg in Roseau, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Rose Lutheran Church in rural Roseau. He grew up in Fox, MN (Rural Roseau) and graduated from Roseau High School in 1959. He received his teaching degree from Bemidji State University in 1965.

Don was united in marriage to Sharon Odegaard on July 27, 1963. They lived in Bemidji, MN while Don finished his college work. Don taught art in Olivia, MN from 1965-1968. In 1968 they moved to Thief River Falls where they have resided since. He taught art at Franklin Middle School for 34 years, retiring in 2002. During this time he also was the picture framer for Paint and Glass in Thief River Falls.

Don was a model railroad enthusiast. He was working on his model railroad display, which was a work in progress. Dons love of farming stayed with him as he enjoyed the summers tending to his flower and vegetable gardens. Throughout his life, Don enjoyed many hunting and fishing experiences. Don and Sharon also enjoyed many bus trips.

Don is survived by his wife, Sharon, children, Shawn (Jerry) Sandahl of Thief River Falls, MN and Dean of Rochester, MN. His granddaughter, Carli Sandahl, was all important and very special to him.

Don is also survived by a sister, Mary (Fred) Acklin of Klamath Falls, Oregon. Also, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ardell and Lois Markstrom of Roseau, MN, sisters-in-law, Audrey Bergan and Phyllis Odegaard of Roseau and many nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lillian Fugleberg, infant brother, Carroll, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter and Lena Sandstrom, St. Paul, and brothers-in law, Dennis Odegaard and Richard Bergan of Roseau, MN.
