Don Landsrud of Gully, Minnesota, age 67, died on February 14, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Lund Lutheran Church in Gully with Dawn Hanson SAM Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Petri Cemetery near Grygla, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Friday February 21, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Don Wayne Landsrud was born November 5, 1946 son of the late Ernest and Joyce (Brateng) Landsrud at Thief River Falls, MN. He was raised on the family farm near the 6 mile corner west of Grygla, MN. He attended Goodridge High School graduating in 1964 and a short time at BSU Bemidji, MN. He was drafted into service with the United States Army and served with the 335th maintenance battalion Company D in Seoul Korea. Following his honorable discharge he returned to Minneapolis, MN area where he worked and lived. Don married Gwen Johnson on January 21, 1967, and to this union three sons were born, Robbi, Rick and Reid. The couple lived in Minneapolis then moved to Mound, MN, and then the couple moved to Grygla, MN in 1971. In 1977 they moved to Argyle and in 1980 moved back to Grygla. In 1992 Don moved to Lisbon, ND and later moved to Renville, MN. About ten years ago, Don moved to his home in Gully. Don worked construction most of his life, he also worked at a creamery and rock quarry before he started in construction. He enjoyed and was a very skilled finish carpenter. Don loved to tinker building things from scratch, was a small engine mechanic, succeeded in nearly everything he attempted, and also enjoyed fishing, metal work, concrete, and spending time outdoors. He is survived by his sons Robbi Landsrud of Benson, MN; Rick Landsrud of Roseau, MN and Reid (Kashia) Landsrud of Mentor, MN; grandchildren Ellie, Garrett, Billy, Teagan, Sierra, Vincent, Everett; great-grandchildren, Josie and Koltlynn; aunts, Shirley (Orvis) Nordby and Yvonne Ellis; uncle, Wendell (Doris) Brateng; and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; aunts, Beverly Burris and Edith Aase; and uncles, Gordon Brateng, Lyle Brateng, Vernon Brateng, Vernon Landsrud and Alvin Landsrud.
