Donald "Donnie" Anderson, 77, died on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Valley Home in Thief River Falls, MN Visitation will be Friday February 6th 10:00am - 12:00pm at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN Donald Leroy Anderson was born February 11, 1937 at old Mercy Hospital, Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Theodore George and Inga B. (Olson) Anderson. He attended Oak Grove School through the 7th grade. Donnie worked at farming and also the Falls Cement Company. While farming in Goodridge, MN he was injured, which caused him to retire but did not stop him from tinkering with lawn mowers and mowing peoples grass. Donnie used to deliver auction fliers around town on his bike to local businesses. He liked going to auction sales, riding bike, going to birthday parties, playing cards, visiting neighbors, reading, watching TV, and putting puzzles together. Donnie was well known throughout the town and would visit many friends on his bicycle. Donnie's family requests that memorials be sent to a charity of their choosing in Donnie's name. Donnie's family would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley and Valley Home for the excellent care they gave to him and the compassion they showed him. He is survived by his sister Arlene (Vernon) Lee; nephews Neil, Lyle, Gary, Kris and niece Lori. Donnie is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother Loren Anderson; half-sister Norma; and half-brothers Stanley and Vernon Anderson.
