Donald Henrickson, age 83, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend John Voelker officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Donald Duane Henrickson was born August 10, 1933, near Goodridge, MN, the son of Peter Angel and Inga (Stolaas) Henrickson. He was baptized at Faith Lutheran Church, Goodridge, MN and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church, Grygla, MN. He grew up and attended Espelie rural school and Goodridge school. He helped on the family farm and began working with Arctic Enterprises in 1968, where he worked on assembly in manufacturing. Donald moved into Thief River Falls in 1969 and retired from Arctic in 1995.

Donald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN. Church came first and his faith was very important in his life.

He enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Donald was a natural at taking care of the sheep, milk cows, lambs, horses and other animals on the farm. He was very helpful mowing lawns and giving rides for the elderly people.

Donald was a kind, gentle, mild mannered, caring man. He took special pride in collecting newspaper articles of his nieces and nephews activities.

Survivors include his siblings, Helen Rude, Esther Collins, Gene (Janice) all of Thief River Falls, MN, Gordy (Sandy) and Howie (Noreen) all of Goodridge, MN along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents; and brothers-in-law, Rudy Rude and Virgil Collins.
