Donald LaFave, 62, died on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Erskine, MN.

Memorial service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Tim McGee presiding.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Saturday at Johnson Funeral Service.

Donald William LaFave was born on June 23, 1943 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of William Bill and Esther (Brown) LaFave. He attended Elementary School and Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls.

Donald was united in marriage to Linda Fontaine in 1966 and to this union two children were born, Shanna and Brandt.

Donald had been employed at Bridgmans and Arctic Cat, where he worked in the race shop and also did some racing for them. He was also employed at Arnold Realty for a few years. Donald moved to Montana for two years from 1986-1988. He returned to Thief River Falls and attended Northland College.

He loved spending time at his cabin on Round Lake, near Leonard, MN. He also enjoyed souped up cars, driving his dirt bike, and deer, duck and goose hunting.

Donald is survived by his daughter, Shanna (John) Engelstad of Thief River Falls, MN; son, Brandt LaFave of Minneapolis, MN; one grandson, Erik Engelstad; and one sister, Darlene (Neil) Tulene of Bryan, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
