Donald G. Nelson, 64, of Plummer, MN died on Thursday, June 01, 2000 at his home in Plummer, MN. Arrangements with the Petterson Funeral home in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 5, 2000 at 2:00 PM in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, MN with Reverend Gary Graff officiating. Burial will be held in the Emmardville Cemetery near Plummer.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, From 5 " 8 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at the Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Donald Gene Nelson was born July 7, 1935 son of Julius and Emma (Olson) Nelson at Plummer, MN. He was raised there and attended school in Plummer. He was baptized in the Lutheran Faith. He served in the US Army. Following his honorable discharge Don returned to Thief River Falls, MN. In 1961 he began employment with Land-o-Lakes Turkey Hatchery where he worked for 14 years. In October of 1962 he was united in marriage to Aurelia Marciniak. Donald also worked for area farmers and was a self-employed house painter. He returned to Plummer in 1985 where he has since resided. Donald enjoyed fishing and watching sporting events.
He is survived by his brother Duane (Connie) Nelson of Plummer, MN; 1 niece, 3 nephews and many cousins.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents Julius and Emma Nelson, brothers George Nelson, James Nelson, Willard Nelson, Vern Nelson and his stepfather Mathew Christensen.
