Obituary

Donald Srnsky, 71, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 22, 2022 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN, with Pastor Ollie Urdahl officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, rural Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at the church.

Donald Marvin Srnsky was born to Louis and Mildred (Bye) Srnsky on July 27, 1951 in Thief River Falls, MN.  He attended school and grew to adulthood in St. Hilaire, MN.

In 1969 he met Della Erlenmeyer.  They were married on October 17, 1970.  In 1971 they welcomed their first daughter, Kathy Jo and their second daughter, Kristy Marie in 1974.

Donald was drafted into the United States Army in 1971 and served in Korea.  He was honorably discharged in 1972 due to a family emergency.

He had various jobs including Arctic Cat and Hydra Mac for numerous years.  Throughout those years he also helped his father-in-law, Robert Erlenmeyer with farming and also did mechanic work for many people.  From there he continued on to drive truck for Prowler Express starting in 1990.  After that he became an owner/operator, working for various companies.  Most recently he was working for Right Line Transport.

His favorite interests were mechanic work, car shows, watching comedies, loving to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and get-togethers with family.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Della; daughters, Kathy Srnsky and significant other, Duane Anderson and Kristy (Casey) Anderson; grandchildren, Dustin (Tiffany) Srnsky and Derrick Anderson; great-grandchildren, Bryston, Brevyn, Brynleigh, and Rhett Srnsky; brothers and sisters, David Srnsky of Oklahoma, Tom (Bonnie) Srnsky, Linda (Doug) Torgerson, Mike (Maria) Srnsky, Randy Srnsky, Sandy (Dave) Hagen, and Dennis (Rose) Srnsky; goddaughter/niece, Tracy Srnsky; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mildred; grandson, Tucker Robert Anderson; his grandparents; several aunts and uncles; siblings, Larry, Shirley, and Roger.
