Donna Jelle of Grygla, MN passed away on January 5, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Donna (Stanley) Jelle was born March 26, 1931 to William and Mable (Norby) Stanley. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace (St. Olaf) Lutheran Church. She was raised in the Grygla Community, attended grade school and graduated from Goodridge High School.

On February 20, 1952, Donna was united in marriage to Gordon Jelle while Gordon was in the Navy. Gordon and Donna made their home in Grygla raising 4 children, Greg, Scott, Kim and Tomas.

Donna was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church. Following high school Donna was employed at the Grygla Co-op Store for 25 years and worked as the City Clerk/Treasurer of the City of Grygla for 25 years. She was very active in her church, community, city and service organizations, as well as volunteering.

She enjoyed reading, bicycling, walking, quilting and most of all enjoyed all of God's creation and knowing whom to thank. "How Great He Is!" Donna was always interested, caring, and concerned how her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends and all other people.

Donna's survivors include her children Greg (Lynette) Jelle of Grygla, Scott Jelle of Thief River Falls, Kim (Danny) Larson of Arizona, and Tomas (Wi Joplin) Jelle of Texas. Her grandchildren Stacie (Shawn) Meyer, Mike (Shonda) Jelle, Tony (Julie) Jelle, Eric (Katie) Jelle, Amy Jelle, Jake Larson and Meg Larson. As well as 8 great grandchildren Jackie (Kody) Stinson, Emilie Tykward, Olivia Tykward, Ty Jelle, Trystan Jelle, Layla Jelle, Teagan Jelle, Korbin Joseph, Olivia Jelle and Eleanor Jelle. Sisters-In-Law Ida Stanley, Kaye Jelle, Lorrayne Jelle, and Delores Salzl.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Gordon, her parents William and Mable, step father Marvin Sletten, brother Arnold Stanley, and nephew Jeffrey Stanley.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Donna will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN at 10 am.
