Donna Faye (Brink) Sweet passed to the Lord Thursday, February 10, 2011, nearing her 95th birthday.
A memorial service is planned at Calvary Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire, MN early this summer.
Donna was born in St. Hilaire, MN, February 25, 1916 and lived there most of her life, during which time she worked 33 years as a telegrapher for the Great northern/ Burlington Northern RR.
She loved cooking, baking and gardening and her table was always open when friends and family popped in or refreshments were needed for a church or dance gathering. She loved her home and was an avid Twins/Vikings fan and followed their games throughout the last season.
She lived with her daughter, Faye and son-in-law, Jack in Cocoa Beach, FL the last 2 years.
Donna is survived by her two daughters, Faye Johnston and Wendy Boman; 6 grandchildren: Boyd, Johnston, Gregory (Katie) Johnston and Jacquell (Tracy) Gartman, Kelly (Alison) Boman and Josh, Elizabeth Sweet (Matt) Crockett; 11 great grandchildren: Johanna, Sarah Kate, Silas and Jack Gartman, Alyssa, Benjamin, Julia and Emma Johnston, Hanna, Kelsy and Abigail Crockett and 1 step great grandchild, Jeremy Boman, all of whom knew and loved her as Gi Gi. She is also survived by sister, Ruth (Arno) Cords and niece Connie (Bill) Pilger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Victor Brink; her husband of 51 years, Frank W. Sweet and son, Stuart Sweet.
