Obituary

Doris Glass of Erskine, MN formerly of Mentor, MN passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at The Country Place in Erskine with her loving family at her side.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday March 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church at Mentor, MN with Father Dave Super Officiating.  Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery near Mentor next to Virgil and Randy Glass. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Doris Marie Dubuque was born May 16, 1927 in Gentilly township, Polk County, MN daughter of Louis and Rose (Violette) Dubuque. The family moved to a farm near Marcoux Corner where she was raised and attended school through the 8th grade in Red Lake Falls, MN. She then stayed home to care for her siblings.

Doris Dubuque was united in marriage to Virgil Glass on October 15, 1945 in Red Lake Falls, MN. They moved out west to Pendleton, Oregon shortly after they were married. They later moved to a farm near Red Lake Falls where they lived until 1950 when they purchased a farm near Mentor, MN where they raised their three children David, Marilyn, and Randy. Doris moved to The Country Place in Erskine in 2006 to be closer to Virgil who was in Pioneer Memorial Care Center.

Doris was a talented painter, enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She also enjoyed gardening, attending to her flowergarden, cooking, and baking. She played the piano and had a beautiful singing voice and sang in the church choir for many years. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mentor.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Lewis) Doyea, Bagley, MN; 7 grandchildren, Stacey (Mike) Hron, Denise (Nathan) LaFriniere, Kristi Doyea, Ryan (Ashley) Doyea, Darin (Melanie) Glass, DeAnn (Pat) McMahon, Devin (Toni) Glass, several great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sisters Joanne Sampson, Jeannette (Fred) Larson, Pauline Daninger; several nieces and nephews.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband Virgil, sons David and Randy Glass, great-grandson Chase Hron, siblings Dale Dubuque, Roy Dubuque, Dorothy Altepeter.

Doris was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed by all.
