Obituary

Doris Langevin, 92, died on Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC Unit, Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 27, 2002 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Tim McGee officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernards Catholic Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, July 26, 2002 at the Johnson-Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls, MN with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service on Friday evening and at the church for one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Doris Eleanor Wiener was born on July 27, 1909 on the family farm in Smiley Township, Pennington County, MN, the daughter of Casper and Anna (Fasselsperger) Wiener. She was baptized on November 6, 1909 at St. Bernards Catholic Church and attended Country School in Smiley Township. Following school she lived and worked in St. Paul for a short time before returning to Thief River Falls.

On May 27, 1941 Doris was united in marriage to Dennis Langevin in Thief River Falls, where the couple made their home. Doris worked at Jungs Bakery and at the Elks Club for many years as a cook. She also did catering.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking and baking, crocheting and playing cards.

Doris was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church, National Catholic Society of Foresters and the Elks Club.

Doris is survived by two sons: Mark (Ellen) Langevin of St. Hilaire, MN and Charles (Peggy) Langevin of Corcoran, MN; four grandchildren: Dennis (Jennifer) Langevin of Fargo, ND, Tina (Jeff) Spiering of St. Hilaire, MN, Velvet Langevin and Mary Langevin, both of Thief River Falls, MN; three great grandchildren: Kathryn Langevin, Alexander Langevin and Nick Spiering; one sister, Monica Hagen of St. Paul, MN and many nieces, nephews and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 14 brothers and sisters: Tillie, Mamie, Casper, Frances, Lottie, Frank, Gladys, James, William, John, Margaret, Clarabelle, Florence, and Joseph.
