Doris Marciniak, 93, died peacefully Friday, November 20, 2009 at Oakland Park Communities, Thief River Falls, MN with her family by her side.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

A Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

Doris Rasmussen was born on April 9, 1916 in Crookston, MN.

On May 19, 1935, Doris was united in marriage to William Max Marciniak at Devils Lake, ND. The couple lived in Drayton, ND, for several years before moving to Thief River Falls in 1956. She was a proud homemaker and mother. Doris especially enjoyed family visits, playing cards, crocheting, rummage sales and had a green thumb for working in her flower gardens. She was also an avid Minnesota Twins Fan.

Doris is survived by sons: William Jr., (Cecile) Halstad, MN, Curtis (Mary), Blaine, MN and Dwight (Jan), Alvarado, MN; Daughter, Aurelia Laundreville, Thief River Falls, MN, Melda Marciniak, Thief River Falls, MN, Sharon Millang, Las Vegas, NV; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 9 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Alyne Foresman, Greenville, MS, Glenna Bratchell, Aurora, CO, Pat (Warren)Rayburn, Laurel,MS, Carol (James) Mahan, Crawford, CO; brother, Lyle Rasmussen, Homosassa, FL; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Marciniak Sr.; parents, Louis and Jesse (Johnson) Rasmussen; infant son, Walter Marciniak; daughters, JoAnn (Marciniak) Haugen and Virginia (Marciniak) Bustrack; grandsons, Miles Corneillie and Paul Hinden;great-granddaughter, Brandi Corneillie.
