Doris Pahlen, 77, died on Monday, July 2, 2007 at her residence at rural Halstad, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, July 7, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Tim Bushy presiding. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral at church.

Doris Rose Casavan was born September 5, 1929 at Dorothy, MN the daughter of the late Cyprean and Olive (Boutain) Casavan. She was raised in the Dorothy, MN area and attended school near Hout, MN. Following school, Doris moved to the state of Washington and worked in the orchards and canneries.

She returned to Red Lake Falls, MN and was married to Theodore Pahlen. During her years in Red Lake Falls, Doris owned a restaurant and also worked as a beautician out of her home. In her later years, she lived in Halstad in the summer and Arizona in the winter with her companion, Les Pederson.

Doris was a great cook and loved to bake pies. She enjoyed going shopping, flower gardening, canning and loved jokes.

She is survived by 3 sisters, Cecile Thode of Erskine, MN, Marie Lentze of Anchorage, AK, and Gladys McGrath of Hillsboro, OR; companion, Les Pederson of Halstad, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by 4 sisters, Obilene Lizotte, Cora Hanson, Mabel Senske and Lilly Hanson; 3 brothers, Lawrence Blackie Casavan, Henry Casavan and Delphus Casavan.
