Doris Rindahl, 84, of Goodridge, MN died in her home, on Monday, January 17, 2005.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Ekelund Lutheran Church, rural Goodridge, MN with Reverend Robert Dahlen officiating. Burial will be in Little Oak Cemetery, Hickory Township, Pennington County, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, January 21, 2005 at the Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a 6:00 P.M. prayer service on Friday evening and at the church for one hour prior to services on Saturday.

Doris Irene Brovold was born on August 20, 1920 in Johnson Township, Polk County, MN the daughter of Jacob and Thora (Thompson) Brovold. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church, near Gully, MN. Doris attended Country School and graduated from Oklee High School in Oklee, MN. She also attended Crookston Agriculture College in Crookston, MN and received her Teachers Certificate from Bemidji State Teachers College. Doris later received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Bemidji State University.

Doris was united in marriage on June 20, 1942 to Mervin Rindahl, on her family farm. They lived on the Rindahl Farm for one year, before moving to their current farm in Star Township, where they have lived since. The couple raised beef, dairy cattle and small grain.

Doris taught in Country Schools, Goodridge School and Gully School, retiring from Fosston School, after teaching for 40 years.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, quilting, reading, working crossword puzzles, playing cards and playing solitaire.

She was a member of Ekelund Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, where she served as treasurer, Homemakers and M.E.A.

Doris is survived by five children: Pam (Virgil) Prigge of Chisholm, MN, Mark (LuAnn) Rindahl of Goodridge, MN, Tom Rindahl of Goodridge, MN, Teri (Allan) Danielson of Gonvick, MN and Paul (Vicky) Rindahl of Goodridge, MN; nine grandchildren: Carmen Langevin, Chris Prigge, Chad Danielson, Michelle Danielson, Amanda Rindahl, Matthew Rindahl, Sara Rindahl, Andy Rindahl and Ross Rindahl; three great grandchildren: Ashley Langevin, Nikolas Langevin and Reece Danielson; and four sisters: Esther Rindahl of Trail, MN, Laverne (Arlie) Fore of Gully, MN, Verna Gore of Little Canada, MN and Audrey Siverson of Fosston, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin; two infant sons: Thomas and Donald; four brothers: Arnold, Elmer, Lloyd and Walter; and one sister, Mildred Bergh.
