Doris Roberts, Mentor, MN, 92 died Saturday February 13, 2016 at Pioneer Nursing Home, Erskine, MN

Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, Mentor, MN with Reverend Michael Sletto officiating.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Grove Park Twp, Polk County, MN.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Doris Mae Rude was born September 7, 1923 at Grafton, ND, the daughter of George Einar and Clara Amanda (Groven) Rude.  Doris was baptized on October 7, 1923 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hoople, ND and confirmed on June 19, 1938 at Mentor Lutheran Church in Mentor, MN.  She attended school at Crookston, MN and graduated from Mentor High School in 1941.

On December 14, 1941, Doris was united in marriage to Harold Roberts at a Lutheran Church in Crookston by Reverend Moen.  The couple made their home west of Mentor.

Doris worked at the Mentor Café, Hartz store for 21 years and also at the Oklee Craft Shop, Oklee.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Senior Citizens group in Mentor and helped with the 1 st graders at Win-E-Mac School in Erskine for 14 years.

She is survived by a son, Kenneth (Doris) Roberts, Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Ray (Cindy) Thomas, Lynn (Dale) McConnell and Robbyn (Stuart) Barnes; great grandchildren, William, Patrick, Harrison, Andria, Tara and B. J.; a sister, Beverly Merle Rhode, Sioux Falls, SD; along with several nieces and nephews.

Doris is preceded in death by husband Harold on October 18, 1988, a grandson and wife, Dale (Christine) Thomas in 1981; sisters, Clarissa Rude and Harriet Noyes and a brother, Kenneth G. Rude.
