Doris Swanson, a longtime of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Rogers, MN, at the age of 89.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls, MN, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Doris had a strong faith in God and was a great influence on her children and grandchildren.  She spent many hours in prayer for family, friends, and others.  She was a lifelong member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls.  As an active mother and grandmother, Doris treasured the times she spent with family.  Early on in life, Doris was a teacher.  She enjoyed volunteering in church, gardening, and cooking.  In her later years she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and keeping up with the news.

She is survived by her children, Petra (Dan) Brodin, Paulette McIntyre, Craig (Lisa) Swanson, and Faye (Chuck) Johnson; grandchildren, Erika (Nils), Chris, Brittany (Brent), Case, Brady, Jessica, Jennie, Nicole, Brandon, & Sean;  great-grandchildren, Matias, Lucas, Maya, Olivia, Landon, Cameron, and Jaden; sister, Eunice (Paul) Thorstenson Lorraine (Paul) Sjulson and other family and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Swanson; brother, Bob Swanson; sister, Mary Ann (Paul) Johnson; grandsons, Cody & Alex McIntyre.
