Obituary

Dorothy Lambert, 83, died on Monday, July 20, 2009 at her home in Oklee, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2009 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with Father John Kleinwachter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Oklee, MN.

Visitation will be held 5-8 PM, Friday, July 24, 2009 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral mass on Saturday at the church.

Dorothy Boucher was born on November 10, 1925 to Wilbrod and Mary (Langlois) Boucher on the family farm in Lambert Township, Red Lake County, MN. She was the youngest of six children. She grew up south of Oklee and attended country school until the 8th grade.

She was united in marriage to Dewey W. Lambert on October 8, 1946 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Oklee. They made their home on a farm briefly and then moved into Oklee.

Dorothy was a stay at home mom and after her children were older she worked as a waitress in the Oklee area restaurants including the Bowling Alley and the Arcady Inn. Before retiring she worked at the Plummer Rec Center. Dorothy enjoyed traveling to various states, the East and West Coast and Mexico to visit her children and grandchildren.

Dorothy was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, St. Annes Society, the Ladies Guild, numerous birthday clubs, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Bridge Club. She was on a bowling team for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, reading, and received great enjoyment cooking for her family and having them get together. Dorothy will be remembered for her caramel rolls, strawberry rhubarb jam, and her pickles.

Dorothy and her children were very thankful and appreciative of her daughter in-law Faye. Fayes wonderful loving care allowed Dorothy to spend the last year of her life in her own home.

Dorothy is survived by six children: Terry (Jenna) Lambert, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Reinold Lambert, Mahnomen, MN, Bonnie Paquin, Clearbrook, MN, Margaret (Stuart) Peterson, Thief River Falls, MN, Donna (Steve) Linder, Oklee, MN, Dean (Faye) Lambert, Nashwauk, MN, 16 grandchildren Justin Lambert, Deb Lambert, Nichole (Sung) Chang, TJ (Angie) Lambert, Kimberly (Chris) Fromm, Stacy (Jim) Rathke, Tina (James) Brannen, Kelsey Lambert, Peter Paquin, Andy Paquin, Alex (Kaia) Paquin, Alicia (James) Kieckbusch, Ashley Peterson, Tanner Peterson, Amber Hartl, Ben Linder, Levi Linder, 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey in 1980, infant son Michael,infant granddaughter, Brandi, 3 brothers: Lawrence, Wallace, Aristide, 2 sisters: Mabel Plante, Delia Johnson, and her parents.
