Dorothy Page, age 80, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN.
Visitation will occur from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Saturday October 16, 2010, at Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls, MN. Deacon John Bruggeman will lead a prayer service at 7 P.M.
A funeral mass will take place at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, October 17, 2010, at St. Joseph's Church, Red Lake Falls, presided by Father Chuck Huck. An hour of visitation will precede mass. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Red Lake Falls. Dorothy's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Dorothy Helen Moran Page was born on September 18, 1930, in Tilden Township, MN, the daughter of Alvin and Mollie (Ricke) Moran. She was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Red Lake Falls. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1950.
Dorothy worked at J.C. Penney stores in Yakima, WA, and Grand Forks, ND during the 1950s and early 1960s. On April 1, 1959, Dorothy married Vernon Page at St. Marys Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND. She then enjoyed being a homemaker. During the 1980s and early 1990s, she was employed at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN.
Dorothy enjoyed reading, working on crafts, playing cards, gardening, and travel. Her travels allowed her to see France, Germany, Switzerland, and many states including Alaska and California. Above all, Dorothy loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survived by 4 children: Daniel (Michelle) Page, Red Lake Falls, MN; Eileen (Robert) Marti, Oslo, MN; Elaine (Randy) Eckstein, New Prague, MN; and Mary (Calvin) Eckstein, Red Lake Falls, MN; 10 grandchildren: Kyle (Tiffany) Page, Tyler (Amanda) Page, Allison Page, Joshua Marti, Jeremy Marti, Christopher Eckstein, Paul Eckstein, Laura (Eugene) Orr, Adam (Natalie) Eckstein, and Benjamin Eckstein; a great-granddaughter, Madeline Page; the father of her children, Vernon Page, Farmington, MN; two brothers, Clayton (Lorraine) Moran, Red Lake Falls, and James Moran, Australia; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Verna Page; 3 siblings: Joseph Moran, Marjorie Persson, and Alvin D. Moran; a nephew, Bryan Moran; and 2 sisters-in-law: ViAnn Hanson and Angeline Moran.
