Dorothy Soeby, 84, died Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Tillamook, OR.

Service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN, with Reverend Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Dorothy C. Green was born July 15, 1920 in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Carl and Marion (Fanning) Green. She moved to Thief River Falls, MN as a child.

On September 6, 1942, Dorothy was united in marriage to William Soeby in Thief River Falls. Together they owned and operated a small drive-in restaurant until 1962, when they moved to Tillamook, OR. There, they ran the Coast to Coast Store between 1962 and 1970. In 1970, they built Wild Bills Discount Mart and Auction and operated it until 1978.

Dorothy was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Tillamook, where she supported Mexican Missions. She also enjoyed RVing in the south during winter months, quilting and gardening.

Survived by 3 children; Michael (Linda) Soeby, Otis, OR, Deborah (Alan) Brawner, Gladstone, OR and Pamela (Jay) Meredith, Beaverton, OR; 5 grandchildren, Dan (Bobbie) Soeby, Ben Soeby, Kathryn , Mason and Erik Brawner, sisters, Carmen (Cliff) Larson, Thief River Falls, MN and Helen Seline, Albert Lea, MN; brothers, Paul Green, Edina, MN and Donald Green, Detroit Lakes, MN.

Preceded in death by husband, William; parents; brother, Carl Green; sisters, Marion Lorenson and Hildegarde Hamre; brothers-in-law, Herbert Seline and Bennie Hamre.
