Obituary

Douglas Hagl, 65, died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at his home in Red Lake Falls, MN

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 PM, Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at St. Josephs Church, Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Chuck Huck presiding. Burial will be at St. Josephs Cemetery, Red Lake Falls.

Visitation will be 5 " 8 PM, Monday, March 28, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service, Red Lake Falls, with a 7 PM prayer service Monday evening with Deacon John Bruggeman presiding. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral at the church, Tuesday.

Doug Hagl was born August 18, 1945 in Crookston, MN, the son of Paul and Mabel (Marwitz) Hagl. He grew up in Red Lake Falls and attended St. Josephs Catholic School and graduated from Lafayette High School. After high school Doug worked as a laborer before entering the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970, where he was a track mechanic.

He started employment at Red Lake Electric in 1974 and after 32 years of service he retired May 30, 2006.

Doug was united in marriage to Louella Hasby in 1984; they made their home in Red Lake Falls. He was a member of American Legion Post 22 in Red Lake Falls. Doug loved to do a lot of fishing, hunting and camping.

Family members include his wife Louella of 26 years, stepchildren, John Timm, Red Lake Falls, MN, Gary (Kris) Hasby, Goodridge, MN, Loretta (Hasby) Brooks, Walker, MN, Lance (Krissy) Hasby, Red Lake Falls, MN; grandchildren, Taushia Brooks, Travis Brooks, Taren Hasby, Jaye Pyatte, and Levi Hasby; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Aaron, Gracies, and Damien; brother, Ken Hagl, Red Lake Falls, MN and sister, Dorothy Hagl (Gust) Samsa, Chisholm, MN.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mabel Hagl; daughter, Kathy Hagl; brother, Duane Hagl sister-in-law, Rita Hagl; several aunts and uncles.
