Dwight George Johnson, 64, died on July 6, 2024, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 21, 2024, 1 to 3 PM at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.

Burial will follow the service at Holt Cemetery, Holt, MN.

On July 6, 1960, Dwight was born to Gerald and Marcy (Leiran) Johnson at Thief River Falls, MN.  Dwight attended school in Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1978.  He worked for a rancher in Fergus Falls, MN.  Dwight was united in marriage to Tammy Lerol at Silverton Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN.  They were blessed with two sons-Ryan and Dustin.  He had various jobs, before he started working at Arctic Cat as a welder.  Due to health issues, Dwight had to retire in 1999.

During his retirement years, Dwight enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and reading many books, especially Western books by Louis L'Amour.  Spending time at the lake camper was also a joy to him.  Dwight was very sociable and enjoyed benefit rides with other motorcyclists.  Most important to him was spending time with Ryan and Dustin and their families.

Dwight is survived by his sons: Ryan (Jaime) Johnson, Zimmerman, MN and Dustin (Jami) Johnson, Rockford, MN; four grandchildren: Elijah, Ella, Allison, and Millie; brothers: Danny (Lori) Johnson, Dave (Shelly) Johnson, Kent Johnson and Kevin (Sue) Johnson; Nieces and Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and close friend and brother from another mother- Mike Beedy

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Marcy Johnson and great-niece, Kali Johnson.
