Earl Strand died Friday, January 13, 2012 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, MN. Private family service was held Monday, January 16, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN. Earl Ordean Strand was born February 3, 1936, in Roscoe Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota, to parents Bernie and Mildred Strand. He married Shirley Friese on August 27, 1955. They farmed in Roscoe Township until 1968 when they moved to the Brooks area and continued farming. Earl enjoyed hunting and shooting and was a member of Rodnes Lutheran Church in rural Erskine. Earl died at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine on Friday, January 13, 2012, at the age of 75 years. He is survived by his wife Shirley; four children, Rita (Steven) Berry, Scott (Glenda) Strand, Brent (Jane) Strand, Mary (Tony) Hoglo; and six grandchildren Andy (fiancée Rachel) Berry, Katie Berry, Conrad Strand, Bradley Strand, Eric (Jessica) Strand and Sophia Hoglo.
