Eddie Blilie, of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND on Monday, October 21, 2019, at the age of 72.
A visitation honoring his life will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. Burial will follow at St. Olaf Cemetery in Grygla, MN.
Eddie Gene Blilie was born on October 8, 1947 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Menford and Emma (Henry) Blilie. He grew to adulthood in Grygla, MN, and attended school there.
In July of 1968 Eddie was married to Nancy Geatz in Grand Forks, ND.
In November of 1968 Eddie entered into service with the United States Army. He served overseas during Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1974.
Eddie was a laborer in many industries including farming, snowmobile manufacturing, and concrete finishing. For many years he lived and worked in Montana as a cattle rancher.
Eddie was a member of the VFW in Thief River Falls. He enjoyed fishing, socializing, and spending time with family.
Eddie is survived by his children, Cheryleen Wilson of East Grand Forks, MN, Jamie Blilie of Washington, and Justin Blilie of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Zachary Blilie, Jane´Todd, Kia Isherwood, Cameron Dufner, and Ryder Blilie; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Eugene) Goulet of Thief River Falls, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Menford and Emma Blilie; brothers, Menford Blilie Jr. and Clifford Blilie; and sister, Ida Blilie.
