Edmund Ed LaJambe, 90 of Oklee, MN died on Tuesday, January 05, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 1999 at 2:00 PM is Zion Lutheran Church in Oklee, MN with Reverend Robert Paulson Officiating. Burial will be held in the Zion Cemetery near Oklee, MN.
Visitation will be held on Friday, from 5 " 8 PM with a 7:30 prayer service at the Petterson Funeral Home in Oklee and also one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
Edmund LaJambe was born May 26, 1908 in Lambert Township, Red Lake County, MN son of Gaspard and Adeline (Langlois) LaJambe. Ed grew up in Lambert Township and attended country school. He worked at several jobs and later worked in Anchorage, AK for sometime. Ed Married Doris Riel on October 24, 1939 in Oklee, MN. The couple lived on a farm near Trail, MN for 9 years.
In 1948 they moved to Oklee where Ed worked for Red Lake County Highway Dept. for 23 years. Ed was well known for his interest in horses and gardening and had great pride and love for his family and was a great storyteller and loved playing cards. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Ed is survived by his wife Doris of Oklee, MN: four daughters Barbara Knutson (Terry) of Bloomington, MN; Betty Piccolo (Joe) of Becker, MN; LaVonne Goss (Gene) of River Falls, WI and Ardis Hofstad (Rene) of Oklee, MN: two sons Robert LaJambe of Red Lake Falls, MN and Jon LaJambe (Karen) of Eagan, MN: 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Three sisters Rena Culhane of Anchorage, AK; Antoinette Alexander of Coeur dAlene, ID and Alice Morressette (Edward) of Bemidji, MN and one brother Walter LaJambe (Gladys) of The Pas Manitoba, Canada.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, an infant grandson Jeremy and five sisters Ada LaJambe, Evelyn Loiland, Rose Varin, Bernadette Howden, Marie Guimont: three brothers Albert LaJambe, Edward LaJambe, Lester LaJambe.
