Edna Johnson of Grygla, MN, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN, with Rev. Vicki Worthington officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Petri Cemetery, rural Grygla, MN.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls, MN.  Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the church.

Edna Irene (Christianson) Johnson was born on November 3, 1930 in Grygla, MN, the daughter of Adolph and Hulda (Rue) Christianson.  She was baptized and confirmed in St. Petri Lutheran Church in Grygla.  She attended country school near Grygla and went to high school in Goodridge for a short time.

On June 30, 1950 Edna was united in marriage to Adrian Johnson at Grygla, MN.  They made their home on the Johnson family farm in Eckvoll Township, Marshall County, MN, where they farmed.

Edna was known as a very hard worker and helped on the family farm.  She took pride in her yard and enjoyed mowing.

Living close to her granddaughters, she enjoyed watching them grow into beautiful young women.  One of her greatest joys was when her great-grandchildren were born.  She was very proud of them.

She also enjoyed spending time with her sister and brother-in-law, visiting and helping with beekeeping.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Marcie (Gordy) Moe of Grygla, MN; granddaughters, Kelsie (Josh) Saunders of Grand Rapids, MN and Bethany (Danny) Abrahamson of East Grand Forks, MN; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Adlee Abrahamson; sister, Doris (Clifford) Eggen of Thief River Falls, MN; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Adrian; son, Jeffrey; parents, Adolph and Hulda; brothers, Eldon (Rose) Christianson, Neil Christianson; brothers-in-law, Arthur Johnson and Erwin (Alpha) Johnson; sisters-in-law, Gail (Palmer) Lian, Audrey Johnson, and Joyce (Walter) Rieck and her niece, Robin (Christianson) Zinda
