Edward H. Kapler, 76, of Plummer, MN died on Saturday, September 28, 2002 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls. Arrangements with Johnson Funeral Service in Red Lake Falls.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, 1:30 PM, October 2, 2002 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake Falls.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Edward Henry Kapler was born August 25, 1926 at Cresco, Iowa son of the late Edward R. and Katherine (Drilling) Kapler. He moved with his family at a young age to the Plummer, MN area where he attended Plummer High School. He entered the US Army on January 30, 1945 and served during WWII being Honorable Discharged on January 7, 1946. He returned to the Plummer area where he farmed until retiring in 1979. He moved to the Lincoln Apartments in 1980 and Edward entered the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls in April of 1994 where he has since resided.

Edward enjoyed working the land, hunting and fishing, he enjoyed attending auction sales and playing cards.

He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls and the American Legion Post in Red Lake Falls.

He is survived by his brother Kenneth (Lorraine) Kapler of Coon Rapids, MN and sister JoAnn Kapler of St. Cloud, MN two nephews and one niece.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Mark.
