Obituary
Edythe Solberg, 86, of Goodridge, MN died on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Ekelund Lutheran Church in rural Goodridge, MN, with Rev. Bob Dahlen officiating. Burial will follow in the Ekelund Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM, Monday, October 24, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Tuesday.
Edythe Joan (Hveem) Solberg born May 14, 1925 at Wolf Point, Montana to Nels and Julia (Rose) Hveem where she grew up and attended elementary school.
In 1937 she moved with her family to Minnesota where she attended and graduated from Goodridge High School in 1943.
In 1943 she returned to Missoula, Montana where she attended and graduated from cosmetology college and was employed until her marriage to Harry L. Solberg December 15, 1945 at Missoula, Montana. They returned to Goodridge, Minnesota where they farmed until Harrys death in 1986.
In 1989 she moved to Thief River Falls where she made her home and continued to sew for Thief River Linen until 1995.
Edythe was a confirmed member of Ekelund Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for several years and held several offices in the ELCW.
Survivors include sons, Larry (Mary) Solberg of Wayzata, Minnesota, Roger Solberg of Thief River Falls, Minnesota; granddaughters, Kelly (David) Mohn of Plymouth, Minnesota and Allison Solberg of Wayzata, Minnesota and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Edythe was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, Norman Hveem, Wolf Point, Montana, Howard Hveem, Libby Montana, Hans Hveem, Osage, Iowa and sister Ruth Kronmiller, Billings, Montana.
