Eileen Largis, 84, of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls with Reverend Gary Graff Officiating. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery near Red Lake Falls. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, 5 - 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls and also one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Eileen Largis was born October 29, 1928 at Fertile, MN Daughter of the late Elmer and Eunice (Copeman) Sims. She attended rural school. She was baptized in Bemidji, MN in 1960. Eileen lived at home until moving to Crookston where she worked at the Wayne Café. In 1949 she moved to Rochelle, Il where she met her future husband Dallas. On Dec. 10, 1950 she was united in marriage to Dallas Largis at Erskine, MN. Dallas worked road construction in the summer living all over the country, winters were spent in Erskine. In 1960 Dallas took a job with Ottertail Power Company in Bemidji and in June of 1968 they made their home in Red Lake Falls. Eileen enjoyed golfing, walking, camping, gardening, hunting, fishing and reading but most of all enjoyed the time spent with her family. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls, the Red Hat Society and the American Cancer Society. She is survived by her two sons Kevin (Jane) Largis of Columbus, NE and Wes (Sherry) Largis of Red Lake Falls, MN; grandchildren Ben (Rachael) Largis, Amanda Largis, Matt (Megan Bettin) Largis, Jessica (Ryan) Psota, Zachery (Alyssa) Largis, Bridget Reinke, Jenny (Marty Howes) Thompson and Travis Samshal; great-grandchildren Dalton, Gavin, Silas, Nia, Catherine, Gage, Kiera, Aubree, Tagan, Makenna. Brothers and sisters Jack Sims of Cadet, MO, Amber Schabacher of Erskine, MN, Ted (Marvel) Sims of Detroit Lakes, MN, Bud (Norma) Sims of Clearbrook, MN, Gerry Reynolds of Plesanton, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Eunice Sims, husband Dallas Largis, Brothers Curtis and Pershing, Sisters Gaylle Lerfeld, LaVonne Frette, Helen Solberg and Doreen Romeo.
