Obituary

Eileen Reierson, 83, died on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. John Wollenzien officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Wednesday.

Eileen Mae Froseth was born on December 30, 1926 to Clarence Ole and Rose (Dostal) Froseth at International Falls, MN. She moved to Thief River Falls with her family at an early age. She attended Knox Elementary and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1944. As a young woman, she worked at Montgomery Wards in Thief River Falls.

She was united in marriage to Milton Julius Reierson on September 14, 1947 at the Methodist Church in Thief River Falls. They lived their entire married life in Thief River Falls. Eileen was a homemaker who took great pride in raising their children. For the last 3 years, Eileen lived at the Thief River Care Center where she received excellent care.

Eileen was a member of the United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. She also was involved with bridge club and sewing club. She was an active member of the Thief River Golf Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Zehlians, and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and cross stitching but her real passion was shopping. She enjoyed visiting, and rarely missed a family event. She liked to entertain family and friends and loved to travel. Her favorite trip was to Yugoslavia where she spent time with her friend Kathleen Olson and Kathleens brother Jack Scanlon, the former Ambassador to Yugoslavia. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas; when she made the season magical and memorable for her family.

Eileen is survived by her husband of 62 years, Milton, of Thief River Falls, MN, four children: Rick (Teresa) Reierson of Thief River Falls, MN, Roger (Arlene) Reierson, of Detroit Lakes, MN, Ronald (JoDee) Reierson, of Thief River Falls, MN, Debra (Mark) Twite, Prior Lake, MN, seven grandchildren: Andy (Dr. Jennifer) Reierson, Alissa (Brian) Miller, Lance (Becky) Reierson, Christopher Reierson, Brianna Reierson, Samantha Twite, Benjamin Twite, three great grandchildren: Hayden, Brittyn, and Sydney Reierson, one sister Barbara (Erling) Olson of Thief River Falls, MN, and several nieces and nephews.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Jennifer Reierson.
