Eivind Skreland, 84, died on Saturday, September 14, 2002 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at 10:30 AM in Salem Lutheran Church near Oklee, MN with Reverend Robert Paulson Officiating. Burial will be held in the Salem Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Eivind Skreland was born on November 23, 1917 in Oklee, MN, the son of Osov and Anne (Heistad) Skreland. He was raised in rural Oklee.

He entered the United States Army on August 12, 1941 and was Honorably Discharged on November 14, 1945. He returned to rural Oklee and farmed his entire life.

Eivind enjoyed farming, fixing his machinery, playing the violin, reading and visiting with friends, family and neighbors.

Eivind is survived by nieces and nephews: Berget Ann Ganji of Fargo, ND, Harold Skreland of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Anne Traxler of Plummer, MN, Gloria Niswonger of Yuma, AZ, Marian Schiller of Grand Forks, ND, Doris Sorenson of Fisher, MN and Lowell Westberg of Warren, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters: infant sister, Mary, Mary Engebretson, Torbjor Skreland, Marie Hegland and Christine Westberg; and three brothers: Taraal Gunsten and Knute.
