Elaine Eggerud, 65, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at Sanford Medical Center, Thief River Falls, MN. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls with Rev. John Voelker officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM, Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Thief River Care Center Chapel and from 5-8 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM Monday with Rev. John Voelker Ph.D. officiating. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday. Elaine Marie Jennings was born June 28, 1946 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Lyle Marshall and Mylis Marie (Thorstad) Jennings. She attended school in St. Hilaire, MN through the 8th grade and then graduated from Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls in 1964. Elaine met Orville Floyd Eggerud in 1963 and they were married on November 28, 1964. The couple lived on a farm near Lancaster, MN for several years where they started their family. In 1971, they moved to Thief River Falls, where Elaine worked at Pamida and Model Laundry. She ran a home daycare for 22 years. She then went to work at Digi-Key, Thief River Falls for 10 years, retiring in 2006. Elaine's health deteriorated and she has been a resident at the Thief River Care Center for the past three years. Elaine was a member of the Red Hat Society. For many years, she collected Denim Days. She was an avid reader and loved family gatherings. She cared for her grandchildren and helped raise them. Elaine enjoyed traveling with her sister Marcia all over the United States and Mexico. She also liked horseback riding. She is survived by four children: Susan (Ken) Frazer, Thief River Falls, MN, Paula (Ray) LaBrecque, Erskine, MN, Lorissa (Jack) Parchmen, Thief River Falls, MN and Austin Eggerud, Glyndon, MN; 14 grandchildren: Haydn Frazer, Hallie Frazer, Holden Frazer, Havanna Frazer, Alexis Jensen, Jami Jensen, Shea LaBrecque, Tre' Eggerud, Aaliyah Parchmen, Anthony Lawson, Caleb Hoagland, Olivia Eggerud, Payton Eggerud, River Eggerud, two great grandchildren: Jackson Schouviller, Easton Jensen, mother: Mylis Jennings, Royal , AR; two siblings: Marcia Halverson and Lyle (Pam) Jennings all of Royal, AR, several nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by husband Orville Eggerud in 1988, father Lyle Jennings and two brothers William Jennings and a baby in infancy.
