Elaine was born January 29th, 1920, to Henning and Leona Anderson. The family made their home on Glenwood Street in Red Wing, Minnesota. Elaine ("Sis") had two sisters and four brothers. Elaine graduated from Central High School in Red Wing. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Chief Theatre, at Red Wing Shoes, the Citizens' Fund, and the Red Wing pottery. She also worked at North American Life and Casualty in Minneapolis and at her Aunt Clara's boutique dress shop in New Mexico. Elaine married Paul Kayser on July 2nd, l949, in Hudson, Wisconsin. They lived in rural Welch, Minnesota, with their four children where Paul worked for Red Wing Pottery. The family moved to Thief River Falls in December of 1962 when Paul began working for the Minnesota State Highway Patrol as a radio dispatcher. When all of the children were in school, Elaine began working as a bookkeeper for Midland LP Plant, a job she held until her retirement. Elaine enjoyed annual trips with her sisters and sister-in-laws to Breezy Point. She and Paul also traveled to many states to visit family and to vacation. She attended an aerobics class three days a week for many years at the Heritage Center in Thief River Falls. She enjoyed painting (still life and Red Wing pottery), sewing (her younger sisters' prom dresses and her daughter's wedding gown), knitting, and collecting Red Wing pottery, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her friends and family. Elaine was a Girl Scout leader, a member of Zehlians, Women's Lioness, and a member of church circle at Zion Lutheran Church. She is survived by her children Christine (Patrick) Yetter of Camas, Washington; Gary (Cindy) Kayser of Manistique, Michigan; Jay (Maureen) Kayser and Casey (Coco) Kayser of Thief River Falls; seven grandchildren: Kari (Jeremy) Skjerven; Jeremy (Melissa) Yetter and Andy Yetter; Laura (Bill) Provost and Cody Kayser; McKenzie and Derek Kayser; and three great-granddaughters: Maddy Jo and Aubree Elaine Skjerven, and Annabelle Yetter; her sister Alice Noce of Lordsburg, New Mexico; and two sister-in-laws, Carole Anderson of Rapid City, South Dakota; and Joan Anderson of Liberty, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul of 53 years, her brothers Dennis, Neal ("Shamo"), Robert ("Rivet"), and Clifford Anderson, and her sister Marybelle ("Mitzi"). Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 10th, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with visitation at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Pastors John Golv and Ale Tulu will officiate. A graveside service will be held on April 11th at 3:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing, Minnesota.
