Obituary

Ruth Elayne Larsen, 91, of Bagley, MN and formerly of Red Lake Falls, MN, died Monday, May 25, 2009 at the Garden Place in Bagley.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2009, with visitation one hour prior to the service, at the Presbyterian Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. Pastor Tom Potter will be officiating and interment will be at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Cottonwood, MN at a later date.
Elayne Larsen was born on August 7, 1917 at Warren, MN to parents Peter and Ruth (Bossman) Wick. She grew up in Warren and graduated from Warren High School. She attended Moorhead State College in Moorhead, MN. On November 2, 1939, Elayne married Birger Lars Larsen at Warren. They lived in the Warren area until 1946, when they moved to Argyle. In 1951, Lars and Elayne purchased the Marshall-Wells Hardware Store in Erskine, MN, and operated it until 1959. Then they moved to Alaska and stayed in the Anchorage area until 1967, when they moved to Elkhart, IN. In 1972, after retirement, Lars and Elayne moved to Red Lake Falls, and there they spent time with family and friends in Red Lake Falls and at the cabin at Maple Lake near Mentor, MN.
Elayne is survived by her son Robert (Premjit) Larsen, Marshall, MN and her daughter Ruth Ann (Donald) Nordlund, Shevlin, MN; her grandchildren Michelle (Casey) Hanevold, Daniel Nordlund and Daron Larsen; and her great-grandchildren Shawn Larsen, Aiden and Carleigh Hanevold.
She was preceded in death by her husband Birger, her son Ronald Larsen and her granddaughter Ronda Larsen; her sisters Phyllis Feuillerat, Marguerite Sloan; her brothers Harold, Warren, and Earle Wick; and her parents.
