Elizabeth "Betty" Hanson, 87, of Thief River Falls, MN died on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 20, 2012 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 PM, Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with a Prayer Service at 4:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to Mass on Monday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Webskowski was born on November 9, 1924, the daughter of John and Mary (Hoffke) Webskowski in Thief River Falls, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith. She attended school in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1943. She married Daniel Robert Hanson on November 5, 1946, in Thief River Falls. To this union three children were born: Jerry, Michael, and Sherry. She worked at Woolworth's as a young woman. She worked alongside her husband Danny at their grocery stores at Danny's St. Paul Grocery and Danny's Eastside Superette from 1954 to 1978. Betty later worked at CNC in the activities department. Daniel passed away on Thursday, August 31, 1989. Family and grandchildren were the first and foremost for Betty. She kept up with the grandkids sporting events and activities. She made lots of crafts and ceramics. She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary and was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening with her husband Danny. Betty also enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. Betty is survived by her three children: Jerry (Karin) Hanson, Thief River Falls, MN, Michael Hanson, Grygla, MN, Sherry (Tom) Koop, Thief River Falls, MN, 6 grandchildren: Chad (Kari Zenzen) Hanson, Jason (Erica) Hanson, Heather (Brian) Jung, Kelly Hanson, Josh Koop, Kaylee Koop, one great granddaughter Lia Hanson, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers Allie Webskowski, Wilfred "Bud" Webskowski, one sister Dorothy "Dutchy" Kelly.
