Elizabeth Betty Orvik, 83 of Red Lake Falls, MN died on Thursday, August 19, 1999 at her home in Red Lake Falls, MN. Arrangements with Petterson Funeral home in Red Lake Falls.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday August 23, 1999 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Monday only.

Elizabeth Catherine Drees was born February 27, 1916 in Wanda, MN daughter of the late Matt and Anna (Moelter) Drees. She moved to the Dorothy, MN area with her parents at a young age where she was raised and attended rural school. Betty worked in several restaurants in the area. On August 3, 1942 she was united in marriage to Ray Rose at Dorothy, MN. She worked at Hillcrest Nursing home in Red Lake Falls from 1966 until her retirement in 1989. Ray passed away September 30 1964. On December 20, 1968 she was married to Clifford Orvik in Red Lake Falls. He passed away January 2 1989.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls and the church guild.
She is survived by her son Gary (Carol) Rose of Red Lake Falls and two grandchildren Sam and Jackie both of Red Lake Falls, MN; two stepdaughters Ramona Whitson of Valencia, CA and Corrine (Archie) Mjelde of Silver Bay, MN. One sister Gertie (Phil) Doran of St. Paul, MN; several nieces and nephews, also four sisters-in-law.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, parents, five brothers Nick, Pete, Hillie, Willie and Chris. Two sisters Mary Drees and Margaret Murphy.
