Elizabeth Phelps, 80 died Sunday at Fair Meadow Nursing Home in Fertile, MN following a long battle with Alzheimers disease.

Memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the Kingdom Hall in Thief River Falls, MN. Ron Skallet will preside. Burial will be held at 2:30 PM at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 AM Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.

Elizabeth Phipps was born on May 20, 1936 the daughter of Jessie and Ada (Knight) Phipps in Hopkinsville, KY. She was united in marriage to Sterling Phelps on March 24, 1951 in Hopkinsville, KY. In 1953 the couple moved to Thief River Falls, MN and made their home, to this union five children were born, Gary, Debra, Ader, Daniel and Lisa.

Liz enjoyed reading, puzzles, gardening, canning, sewing, being outdoors and especially loved spending time with her family.

She was baptized on April 15, 1972 as one of Jehovahs Witnesses and attended the Kingdom Hall in Thief River Falls.

Survivors include five children, Gary (Frances) Phelps of Grand Forks, ND, Debra (Larry) Mogen of Thief River Falls, Ader Phelps of St. Hilaire, MN, Daniel (Tammy) Phelps of Tucson, AZ, and Lisa Stage of Crookston, MN; nine grandchildren, Samala, Derek, Tara, Elizabeth, Madeline, Michael, Jessica, Sterling, Kayla; five great grandchildren, Noah, Simon, Irisah, Khristofer, and Fauna; brother and sisters, Margerie (Oliver) Jones, Rose Vernon and Johnny (Elsie) Phipps; and several relatives and friends.

Liz is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sterling in 1996; and nine brothers and sisters, Jessie Phipps, Jessie Marie, Jessie Garland II, Mae, Martha, Urlean, Imogene, Jay, and Mary.
