Elmer Englund, 89, died on Monday, August 31, 2009 at Misson Nursing Home in Plymouth, MN.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls with Reverend Bob Dahlen officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethesda (Log Church) Cemetery near Grygla, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Elmer Englund was born on September 22, 1919 in Pennington County near Thief River Falls, MN one of ten children born to Swan Peter and Olga Marie Englund.

His siblings are, Emmy Englund, Carl Englund, August Englund, Mae Martin, Ella Englund, Gladys McCormac, Melvin Englund, Arnold Englund, and Eileen Dieter.

Elmer lived in the Grylga, MN area and was a farmer and a woodsman for most of his life.

Survivors include, Carl Englund of Mora, MN, Mae Martin of Pine City, MN, Gladys McCormac of Thief River Falls, MN, Melvin Englund of Grygla, MN, Arnie Englund of Warroad, MN, Eileen Dieter of Phoenix, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by, his parents; Swan and Olga Englund; siblings, Emmy Englund, August Englund, and Ella Englund.
