Emma Moberg, 95, died on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls, MN.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN with Reverend John Golv presiding. Burial will be at the Holt Cemetery, Holt, MN.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN and also at the church for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Emma D. Moberg was born on March 23, 1913 in Mud Lake, MN, the daughter of Knute and Karen (Ellingson) Nelson. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed in 1929 at Nazareth Lutheran in Holt, MN. Emma attended School District 151, Marshall County, MN.

Emma was united in marriage to George Moberg on November 23, 1936 in Holt, MN. The couple lived in Mud Lake until 1937, when they purchased the old Charlie Davis farm north of Holt. While living there they did grain farming and had dairy cattle.

Emma began working for Inga Berget in the Holt Post Office in 1962 and later worked at Arctic for nine years. George passed away in 1985 and Emma continued to make her home in Holt Township. Emma belonged to Nazareth Lutheran Church, the Red Hat Society, Holt Keenagers and is kept busy with her garden, flowers and lawn work.

Emma is survived by her sisters: Clara A. Reierson of Holt, MN, Olga Gilbertson of Holt, MN, and Gladys Anderson of Thief River Falls, MN; sister-n-law, Gerinda Nelson of Thief River Falls, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, two brothers, Johnny and Edwin; and one sister, Anna.
